We’re excited to announce that PsychTrakka now fully supports the Ahpra registrar program for registered psychologists pursuing area of practice endorsement. This has been one of the most requested features since we launched, and we’re thrilled to finally deliver it.
Who is this for?
The registrar program is for registered psychologists who are working toward endorsement in one of Ahpra’s nine recognised areas of practice:
- Clinical Psychology
- Community Psychology
- Counselling Psychology
- Educational & Developmental Psychology
- Forensic Psychology
- Health Psychology
- Neuropsychology
- Organisational Psychology
- Sport & Exercise Psychology
If you’re completing a registrar program to earn your area of practice endorsement, PsychTrakka now has everything you need.
What’s supported?
All five qualification tiers
The registrar program has five qualification tiers based on your postgraduate qualification:
| Tier | Qualification | Duration | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Masters Degree | Masters qualification | 88 weeks min. | 3,000 hours |
| Bridging — first AoPE | Bridging program, first endorsement | 88 weeks min. | 3,000 hours |
| Bridging — subsequent AoPE | Bridging program, subsequent endorsement | 66 weeks min. | 2,250 hours |
| Combined Masters/PhD | Combined Masters/PhD program | 66 weeks min. | 2,250 hours |
| Doctoral Degree | Doctoral degree (DPsych/PsyD/PhD) | 44 weeks min. | 1,500 hours |
PsychTrakka automatically applies the correct requirements for your tier.
Active CPD tracking
One of the key distinctions in the registrar program is the difference between active CPD (participatory, applied learning) and passive CPD (observational or self-directed learning). Ahpra sets minimum requirements for active CPD hours, and PsychTrakka tracks both categories separately so you always know your compliance status.
Direct supervision only
Unlike the 5+1 pathway, registrar supervision must be direct — face-to-face or real-time video. Asynchronous supervision does not count. PsychTrakka enforces this distinction automatically when you log your sessions.
Period reports
Instead of weekly reports, registrars submit quarterly or half-yearly period reports to their supervisor. PsychTrakka generates these Ahpra-compliant reports in seconds, with the same digital sign-off workflow you may already know from the 5+1 pathway.
Why we built this
The registrar program has always been underserved by digital tools. Most registrars are still tracking their hours in spreadsheets, manually calculating active vs passive CPD, and formatting period reports by hand. We wanted to fix that.
The same time savings and compliance confidence that thousands of 5+1 interns rely on every week are now available to registrars as well.
