Clinical Registrar Program

A registrar logbook that tracks competencies, not just hours.

Purpose-built for every PsyBA area of practice endorsement — hours, supervision, active CPD, competencies, experience breadth, and learning plans.

The registrar program is complex enough without the admin.

Time overhead icon

Report preparation

Collating hours, confirming your CPD counts as active, and formatting reports manually takes hours every quarter.

Confused face icon

Active CPD requirements

Not all CPD automatically counts. Activities need a written or oral component to qualify as active — easy to lose track of without a dedicated tool.

Complex supervision rules

Principal and secondary supervisor ratios, individual versus group — getting the balance wrong delays your endorsement application.

PsychTrakka keeps you on track

Hour pool tracking

Separate pools for practice hours, supervision, and active CPD — tracked in real time against your tier requirements.

Supervision breakdown

Log direct supervision sessions by supervisor type. PsychTrakka validates ratios automatically — no manual calculations required.

Active CPD tracking

Log your active CPD and track it against your tier's requirement, so you always know exactly where you stand.

Period report generation

Per-year direct contact targets

Your minimum direct client contact hours per year are calculated automatically for your qualification tier, so you always know the pace you need to keep.

Coverage for every qualification tier.

Clinical registrar program questions, answered.

How many hours does the clinical psychology registrar program take?

For a master's-qualified clinical registrar, the program runs for a minimum of 88 weeks and involves up to 3,000 hours of psychological practice, 80 hours of supervision, and 80 hours of active CPD. Requirements are reduced for combined Masters/PhD qualifications (2,250 hours) and doctoral qualifications (1,500 hours). PsychTrakka tracks each pool automatically against your qualification tier.

What is the difference between a principal and a secondary supervisor?

Your principal supervisor holds endorsement in your area of practice and provides the majority of your supervision, while a secondary supervisor can deliver a smaller portion. PsychTrakka logs supervision by supervisor role and validates the required ratios in real time, so you never have to calculate them by hand.

What counts as active CPD versus passive CPD?

Active CPD includes a written or oral component — such as reflective writing, case discussion, or presenting — rather than passive attendance alone. Only active CPD counts toward your registrar CPD requirement. PsychTrakka tracks your active CPD against your tier's requirement so your hours are always clear.

When can I call myself a clinical psychologist?

Only once the Psychology Board grants your area of practice endorsement. During the program you use the title "Clinical Psychology Registrar". Using the endorsed title before approval is unlawful.
